Andover Resin Driveway Benefits

Colour Selection
We are able to obtain every colour available on the market because of our excellent supplier relationships. Thus, you have a choice of more than 100 colours. But if that's too much for you, we can reduce it to our top 20 colours.

Durability
Unlike less expensive, more readily available materials, resin driveways are made to last a very long time and look good while doing it!

Maintenance-Free
Resin driveways are made especially to prevent water damage, fading, weed growth, and stains. Resin offers the best of both worlds because of its solid yet porous materials.

Property Value
The answer is simple: yes. Having a gorgeous driveway makes a big difference because it's the first thing people notice when they arrive. Sometimes, though, the gorgeous driveway is what seals the deal, even if the actual valuation is unaffected. Just consider this: if they see a house in the neighbourhood that is comparable in price and the driveway is the only significant difference, they will always choose that one.

Eco-Friendly
Little to no natural resources are used in the production of resin products, which are primarily made of recycled materials. It's the most environmentally friendly choice available. Additionally, the product's permeable nature enhances its benefits by preventing flooding and water run-off.

Design Options
Resin allows for a wide variety of design possibilities. In addition to the variety of colours, there are dozens of options for manhole covers, lighting, patterns, shapes, and edging.
Our Process For Resin Driveways
QUOTE REQUEST
Our goal is to communicate with you within 24 hours, usually the same day or within an hour, regardless of how you contact us—by phone, Facebook, the website, or another platform.
ON-SITE MEETING
A dedicated surveyor will come to the property and go over all the details in order to accurately evaluate your job. Before creating a quote, we ensure that everything has been carefully evaluated.
CONTRACTS
After our quote is accepted, we will always provide comprehensive documentation that includes all relevant details. For your peace of mind, we ensure that all agreements are in writing because verbal agreements are prone to misunderstandings.
THE PREP
Prior to the resin being applied, most jobs require some preparation; this is where our skilled ground workers are useful. We make sure all jobs are installed in line with UK law, especially for Drainage and Permeable Surfaces. In this phase, edgings are also installed, along with any possible extras like lighting, drainage, recessed manhole covers, etc.
RESIN SURFACING
The resin-bound surface can be laid as soon as the site is ready. The resin and aggregate must be mixed at extremely precise times and amounts. To ensure that mixes are installed right away, we make sure everything is meticulously planned out. To prevent unsightly "joins" and to ensure that we never run out of resin or aggregate midway through the job, we also slightly overorder.
LET IT CURE
How long does a resin driveway need to cure?
It takes at least 12 hours for resin to cure, but for safety, we advise 24 hours.
Depending on the weather, we typically advise 5–7 days for the surface to be completely cured before allowing vehicle traffic. If in doubt, go for 7 days.

"Resin driveway"

"Ricky was great in providing the quote and explaining the process. Price was very good. The two teams of workers (groundworkers and resin layers) were very informative and friendly, they were happy to answer any questions I had. Work was completed promptly despite a couple of minor delays with suppliers. Overall delighted with the job, it has transformed the front of our house."

"Transformation of driveway"
10/10
"From start to finish, a really professional and courteous service. I had lots of questions and all were answered in detail and with patience. It was more than just surfacing: digging out, porous concrete then resin. All done with care and respect to my property. I was amazed that the resin is laid by hand, on knees and with great care. My horrible gravel and concrete driveway, with a lot of wasted space, has been transformed into a beautiful one. If this is an example of how Royal Homes conduct their business, they have a great future ahead. I highly recommend them."

How much does a resin driveway cost in Andover?
Every job is extremely different, there is no set price per square meter that we can confidently give out.
We can certainly say that most driveways will be somewhere between £2,000 and £80,000. Of course, we understand this is a massive range, so we always provide free site visits to provide you with an exact quotation.
Driveways come in all different shapes and sizes and there are also countless other variables like access, groundworks vs overlay, location, and optional extras.
"My driveway is just a normal size, you must know the average price?". Unfortunately, because of the variables above, one "normal-sized" driveway could easily be double the price of another.

Frequently Asked Questions for Resin Bound Driveways
What is a resin bound driveway?
A resin bound driveway is a fairly new and beautiful way to surface a driveway. They're unique because of the eco-friendliness - the surface is porous and the materials are recycled. Resin is certainly the premium option when it comes to driveway surfacing, it's also the most durable and value-adding product.
How is a resin driveway installed?
A resin driveway is installed with a 3-step system: groundworks, preparation, resin.
During the groundworks phase, the goal is to excavate to the appropriate depth, remove all waste responsibly, and assess the ground.
Onto the preparation, resin surfaces need a base + sub-base system, generally either Type 1 or Type 3 certified MOT as the sub-base and then either AC14 porous tarmac or AC32 porous tarmac as the base. This varies by the type and size of each job.
For the resin phase, very precise timing and amounts are used to mix the UV-stable polyurethane resin with the aggregates. Everything is then laid by hand in one day, the resin process cannot be interrupted because it would cause a visisble "join" in the surface. This means we are also very mindful of weather conditions - it must be above 5ºC and dry.
What is the difference between resin bound and resin bonded?
Resin bound and resin bonded are often mixed up, but they are not installed the same way. With resin bound, the UV-stable polyurethane resin and aggregate are mixed together before spreading. On the other hand, for resin bonded, the aggregate is "sprinkled" over a layer of resin. Resin bound leaves you with a smoother, more appealing look. Resin bonded is a tougher and less durable surface, but slightly cheaper to install.
Are resin driveways permeable and SUDS compliant?
If a resin surface is installed from scratch with the full base and sub-base system, it will indeed be permeable and fully SUDS compliant. However, if resin is laid on an existing surface, such as a tarmac or concrete driveway, it will not be fully permeable or SUDS compliant. Often, extra drainage is required in these scenarios.
How long do resin driveways last?
If a resin driveway is installed properly, it will last 20 years or more. The robust base and sub-base system is thicker and stronger than most other driveway specifications. The top layer of resin is also very strong, handling up to 7 tonnes.
